The Justice of the Constitutional Court issued Interpretation No. 748 on May 24, 2017, and the Act for Implementation of J.Y. Interpretation No. 748 was enacted on May 24, 2019. The Act enables two persons of Taiwan of the same sex to establish a permanent union of an intimate and exclusive nature for the committed purpose of managing a life together, and to enter into marriage.
